The scandal creating Hollywood hell. Hollywood is burning itself down. So much corruption. So much debauchery. It’s showing itself to be the pit of vipers that we always knew it was. There are so many stories out there on this topic. Every day brings new allegations of sexual abuse. I, for one, am not surprised by this at all. This story may go on for weeks. Then again, it may disappear overnight. All it takes is the next great news story.
I have wanted to speak about this for a while. I just didn’t have the words. This scandal has caused me to think deeply, more deeply than I have in a while, about my thoughts on Hollywood and how that squares with my thoughts on raising children to be productive members of society. With today’s environment of politically correct speech, I have silenced myself and my thoughts and ideas on the topic of our daughters growing up and wanting to be actresses. Glamour surrounds our daughters. Sexual lust and lustful images are a matter of an everyday occurrence on television, on billboard signs, certainly on the Internet, anywhere that consumer products are being sold.
I’m sure that what I’m about to say will offend lots of people. But it needs to be said. To start with, I want to say that Harvey Weinstein is despicable. He used his power and position to sexually abuse women. There is no excuse for that. I believe that he is only one of many sexual abusers in Hollywood. Again, there is no excuse for that. Having said that, what I want to address in this podcast is the nature of the women who choose that environment.
