Continuing with dating, marriage, children — learning via “role models” – that’s where the real character is transferred from parent to child. We talked about self-respect. Look for it in yourself. Look for it in others. Emulate others that have that quality that you seek. When interacting with others with your new-found sense of self-respect, pay attention to your gut. Listen to it and be willing to identify and walk away from anyone who disrespects you. If you do not, you are inviting disrespect into your life. Stand up for yourself at all times. No one else will.
This topics and stories in this episode was a major life changer for me. Hmmm. I seem to say that a lot. I think all experiences have contributed to my growth. But there is no substitute for getting a solid foundation in childhood.
